Wavesailors!
Once again Huey was kind to us for the 3rd Round of the Victorian Wavesailing Series which was held on Sunday at Point Impossible.  We had a challenging gusty cross to cross offshore winds ranging from up to your armpits in water, 5 knots to 30 knot squalls coming through with 2 to 3 foot of swell.  We got a fantastic turnout with 10 entrants in Division A and 11 entrants in Division B.  This was also the first time we had enough wavesailors to hold a Division B which was great to see.

The format of the day started off with a warm up expression session followed by 10 minute heats which were judged on waveriding as the wind was not very favourable for jumping early on in the day.  The girls were showing the guys how its done in Division B with Betul (aka wave magnet) and Lisa progressing to the final only to just get beaten by Paul Grage in the final.

The standard of sailing in Division A was great to watch with the standouts being Tom White, Evan Hawkey, Wes Greene and Andrew Hocking who all progressed through the heats and into the final.  The wind decided to blow a bit harder in the final which added the element of jumping into the mix.  All 4 competitors were jumping, looping and spinning around everywhere in a final where anyone could of won.  In the end, Tom White won his 2nd event running by just beating Wes Greene by the smallest of margins.  Congratulations to Tom for winning the last two events and everyone else who came down to Point Impossible.  Thanks to everyone who helped out and to Nick Maloney who very kindly offered to judge all day and award a few prizes from Core Boardsports.  Everyone had a really fun day and its great to see more people giving the waves a go no matter what there standard is.

The leader board is starting to look very interesting with Evan at just a mere 3 points ahead of Tom White and Andrew Hocking is a further 10 points behind.  For Division B, Paul Grage is leading the event after the event at Point Impossible.  If i have missed anyone who competed, please just send me a email and i will correct the results.

Look forward to seeing you all at the next event which is planned to be on the weekend of 13th/14th February.
