Hello Everyone. Unfortunately on Sunday 28th Feb the 25 knots was never to be seen. We still got a decent sea breeze but not enough to hold King of the Bay where we want a minimum of 25 knots and a decent bay swell. The King of the Bay window is still open for the next month so hopefully we will get another opportunity to hold the event. Thanks for everyone who turned up at Elwood for a sail. We even got a bit of crowd for a while at the storm water outlet!
When it does happen, registration will be at the poo pipe (the stormwater concrete drain) located at the end of Head Street in Elwood. Depending on the numbers, we will firstly hold a expression session followed by judged heats for the top windsurfers. The event format will be similar to the wavesailing format where we will firstly run a expression session with the top sailors progressing to sail against each other in judged heats. The winner will be crowned King of the Bay. King of the bay will be a stand alone event and the points will not be included in the Vic Wavesailing Series. Don't miss the chance to be crowned KING OF THE BAY!!! A few windsurfing crew have also set up a Elwood Windsurfers facebook page which has the latest photos/videos/chat. Please follow the link below and sign up for the latest windsurfing news.
See you on the water
