Following on from the success of 2009, the Victorian Wave Sailing series will be back bigger and better for the 2010/11 season! Building on last season there are a few additions to the series for this year.
While we have increased the amount (six) of ‘Fixed’ windows for us to hold events we have also added the flexibility of including three ‘roaming’ dates to the event calendar. These ‘roaming’ dates will be on call for any weekend between the 18th Sept – 12th March. This flexibility will allow us a much better chance of scoring some awesome wave sailing conditions for you guys.
Dates are as follows:
18/19th September – First fixed event and start of competition window for roaming events.
9/10th October
30th – 2nd November – Melbourne Cup Weekend at Sandy Point
13/14th November
18/19th December
5/6th February
End of Roaming window is 12th March
Other improvements and additions for the new series is building on the ‘B’ division concept to provide a safe, non competitive environment to encourage people new to wave sailing a chance to sail in the waves with plenty of help, encouragement and local knowledge on hand.
